2012 CBPBA Board of Directors

At the Changing of the Props Party this month, the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association welcomed it's new President, Jeff Whetzel, and 3 new Directors. Joe Lorentzen, will take over the Sr. Vice President slot.

Chip Manning, Craig Hall, and Andrew Clothier were elected to the CBPBA Board of Directors last month, and take over for the 2012 season.

2011 Bull Dog Award

The Bull Dog Award for 2011 was presented to Joann Barker by Bill Bevard at the January General Membership Meeting.

Joann has served the CBPBA for many years in a number of capacities from Club Admin, to the Board of Directors, to Senior VP. Most notably, Joann leads our clubs Good and Welfare effort.

The Bull Dog Award is presented to 1 member each year in recognition of outstanding service. dedication and contributions to the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association. Congratulations to Joann.

CBPBA raises more than $9k for Alzheimer's research

Golfers “Stroke of Luck” raises over $9000 for Alzheimer’s Association

Annapolis, Maryland, January 11, 2012 – The Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association presented a check in the amount of $9092.21 to the Alzheimer’s Association at their monthly meeting held at The Whiskey 1803 in Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

The CBPBA kicked off the Solomons Island Grand Prix Race weekend in September with its “Stroke of Luck” golf tournament. This tournament benefited the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of CBPBA member, Matt Loiacono’s father, Elturino “Lucky” Loiacono who passed away in 2008. It was held at Chesapeake Hills in Lusby, MD on Friday, September 23, 2011 and had over 70 golfers in attendance.

Changing of the Props Party

Last night, Chip Manning, Craig Hall and Andrew Clothier were elected to the CBPBA Board of Directors!!! And Jeff Whetzel now steps in as President since Ted Ginnity's term has ended.

So plan to join us for our annual Changing of the Props Party on the 1st Tuesday in January, which will be January 3rd. The COTP's Party is to congratulate our newest Directors and thank our outgoing Directors for their leadership.

NOTICE: Proof of Insurance Information

NOTICE: Proof of insurance required for CBPBA boating events.

Annually, for all Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association boating events (i.e., official poker runs), Captains are required to have proof of insurance on file with the club.

We need a copy of the Declaration(s) of Coverage Page, showing what is covered and the coverage period. Our insurer has made this a requirement, it's not an option. So it's very important we meet the obligation, otherwise we'll have to turn people away the morning of an event.

No one is interested in the rates your paying or the T's and C's of the policy. Each policy has a 1 or 2 page section which is a Declaration of Coverage, showing what assets are covered by the policy... [Read More]
